My sender was pretty clogged and rusted so it was completely unserviceable. The only part of mine that's left now is the fuel return nozzle. I can drive the car but my fuel gauge doesn't register
Before you give up on a suspected faulty sender, research the price and availability of a replacement. New ones are between $500-$600 and used ones are hard to come by, in my experience.
