CIS Brass fuel inlet Hollow bolt FILTER
WHERE can I find these??????? tiny removable plastic fuel filter screen in the brass fuel inlet fitting on some fuel heads
there are barely any references to them and I am wondering if i should just remove them. mine are bent up from prior removal (not me of course) and two were stacked in one fuel line bending the filter and destroying it. Any help appreciated. The final Picture is one off of my CIS bolt. (1980 930 stock CIS) ![]() ![]() ![]()

My fuel head didn't have one of those originally and when I got my fuel head back from CIS Flowtech from being modified and rebuilt it had one inside a new brass fitting.
That's a really small fine screen filter and it looked like it could impede flow at full throttle and lean out the motor under full boost so I pulled it out of there with needle nose pliers and tossed it. You don't need it if you have a 930 Mahle fuel filter next to the accumulator. The Mahle filter has a finer micron element thats huge compared to that little tiny screen filter You could probably get one from Larry at CIS Flowtech in Alabama. |

check a Mikuni carburetor dealer (motorcycle), looks similar to me like some of the filter in the in-line of the carbs sometimes have. Diameter is maybe 5mm

old thread but...
today I ran into the problem that I broke some of the brass inlet filter in the CIS fuel head. If anybody interested in rebuild kits for CIS Fuelheads/WUR or other spareparts... check the webpage of these german specialist. Quick response, how to manuals and really good service (no I´m not a sponsor) https://www.missingparts.de/products/feinfilter-auslassfilter-fur-bosch-k-jetronic-mengenteiler-fine-filter-for-bosch-k-jetronic-fuel-distributor |

As J Fairman posted, they do restrict fuel flow. If you are fairly stock and not short of fuel, fair enough. If you are hunting for more fuel, ditch it. It was one of the biggest improvements when I actually discovered the thing in the FD.
