cam chain tensioner

So I am having a rubbish time reasembling the engine.
I have done this job dozens of times, no issue. This time I flicked the cam chain tensioner out and managed to catch it by the little bleed valve on the top. :-(
So the part # on the unit is 930 105 547 4R. The 4s are not quite distinct - but thats what they look like.
It is a pressure fed tensioner. But the ones I bring up on Pelican do not look pressure fed?https://www.pelicanparts.com/catalog/SuperCat/0751/POR_0751_ENGCAM_pg3_timing-chain-tensioners.htm
Where would I find the equivalent tensioner.?
There is a chance I could fix this one but would rather get a new unit if possible.
Thanks
Alan

Hi Alan, my search came up with these. Different part number but probably will work.

https://www.pelicanparts.com/search/?q=pressure+fed+timing+chain+tensioner

Best of luck,

Rahl

Thats interesting - thanks Rahl.
I guess you need to search for 'pressure fed' I just searched for cam tensioners.
Interestingly - your part # is 930 105 058 03,
but if you look at this one
https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/93010505803.htm?pn=930-105-058-03-INT&bc=c&SVSVSI=0580
It has the same part # on the body as mine. So it is the same unit. Different part #s.
Thanks Rahl.
Hopefully no more stuff ups. Dropped the timing gear shaft key down the hole, later followed by a cam case nut. Both retrieved luckily.
Of course I promised myself I wasn't going to drop anything down there. Oh did I mention the chain ramp as well.
Make haste slowly.
Regards
Alan

What was that about drinking beer and working on the engine at the same time? lol

I've been there myself. Dropped a magneto part down inside the accessory case of my airplane engine. Spent hours trying to fish it out (alternative is a teardown/rebuild).

Hangar mate came over and got it on the first try.

Glad you got your parts out.

Yeah - it is kind of your worst nightmare really - to see something drop down in to the chain case. Luckily they hadn't travelled too far and were visible.
But when I first tore this engine down - shortly after buying the car, it was clear it had been patched up in a hurry to get sold. After blowing a piston. RTV seeping out of every joint - choose your colour, it had them all. When I got to the crankcase I found a timing lock pin. Obviously they just gave up trying to find it, knowing the car was about to be sold.
Waiting for some bits now. Had hoped to have it running by now and possibly make the next meetings.
Too rushed. Shelved that plan and will work on it at a sensible pace. Too many mistakes.
I inadvertently cracked the cam bolt off using a flywheel lock. Not thinking. Forgot that is straining the chain. Got a new one on order as well as the proper cam tool.
Every time I use my home made cam tool (which is awkward) I keep telling myself, just one more time - won't need the proper tool. Now I have ordered it, it will probably sit in a drawer for the rest of its life.
Regards
Alan
