Beep Beep

Remember him? Another blast from the past.
So he just replied to a thread in the 911 Tech forum - something about wastegate or recirc gaskets.
Anyway I replied - good to hear you are still alive.
He was a great contributor on here - very knowledgeable. I have suggested he might like to cchime in again. He says he no longer has a P car and mainly driving electric. I told him we won't hold that against him. He isn't banned for driving the wrong car.
Hopefully we hear from him again.
Alan

Yep, another good dude that's been around here and contributed much wisdom for a long time.
I have sworn never to go electric, but for my chainsaw and recent impact driver. Give me fossil fuel or give me death...words of a fossil himself.

Good news! He had a brilliant design for an airbox. Very sensible approaches to all of his mods.

Hopefully he comes back to the forum.
Electric - well, like Mark I have gone to some electric handy tools - brush cutter, hedge trimmer, pole saw, impact wrench.
I won't go back to the old stuff. These utilities are far better than fixing 2 stoke motors.
I have contemplated an E car for short commuting (I am running a '91 heirloom - fathers car).
But I won't be trading the Porsches in for a E vehicle. Another fossil talking here.

my neighbor is an American muscles car big block guy buys and fixes and sells diesel trucks as a side gig .He has has every tool you can think of,does all the work himself .. i saw him using a battery powered weed Wacker over the weekend . i felt obligated to go over and express my disappointment.
His response you need to get one way better than mixing and screwing with 2 stroke . He does have a point i hate the smell of 2 stroke if i did have a battery powered one i would probably use it more often.

I would never go back to 2 stroke things after having replaced them with batteries. The amount of time I have spent fixing carbs, tuning the things etc - part of my life I won't get back.

Actually I like the smell of 2 stroke, from my past love of dirt bikes which started in the 70's and ended a half dozen years ago.

But it is nice to just be able to "plug and play" with electric. Replacement batteries are extremely expensive and over time I fear will not be available as device manufacturers make upgrades requiring different batteries.

Being new around here I looked up beepbeep and found his crazy build thread and the trailer for the documentary on youtube. Pretty fun read and watch.

I have PM'd him.
No result yet - but he may not check in that much. Fingers crossed.
