Cool Anyone recognize this 935 style wing?

I picked up this 935 style wing at a local swap meet recently. It is from the collection of David Glenn, and I bought it from a friend of his. Hagerty is selling David's amazing collection of Porsche cars and parts soon. I have no financial interest just passing it along. David's friend was not sure where he got this wing, but David worked for a whos who of Porsche shops including Ruf, Kramer, PCNA, Brumos, etc.

My initial searching has not turned up anything about it. I will start to dig deeper in old books and magazines.

It has a cable adjustable blade in the wing, that presumably the driver could adjust during a race. It says "Trim-Line" on it and has some German language stickers.

It looks like it will bolt right up to my 930...

John

Nice looking part. There's a chance it's a custom part that someone built back in the day. The base looks like an RSR whaletail with the ends cut off.

I agree, The Peter Gregg had a lot of parts modified, I may be selling a pair of 14x15 Fuchs he had built from a set of 11x15s to use on one of his modified race cars

The part says "Trim-Line" on it and apparently they sponsored Dick Barbour for a number of seasons. Looking at Dick's cars I don't see any with movable blade on the wing. I guess some Group 5 Teams experimented with them in testing but did not use them in FIA races.

Moveable aero devices were not allowed in FIA Group 5 but were allowed in IMSA GTX? Looking into those cars now. Such an interesting part of Porsche racing history.
