Waste gate pipe
Does anybody have a non-stock waste gate exhaust pipe ? I am running a zork tube and would like to brighten things up on that side.

The long schlong on EBay is needed only if you have stock headers.
Use the shorty if you have B&B etc: Perhaps 4 or 5 inches long -

Those straight pipes must be loud...
![]() here I am thinking my original small muffler at the end of the wastegate is loud.. you can clearly hear it when the wastegate opens ups.. sweet.

I have a straight pipe (stainless steel) that I will sell you dirt cheap. Let me post a pic of it here when I get home (give me about 6 hours).

Here is my stainless straight dump pipe (it is actually curved to deflect hot gasses towards the pavement). I used it for a few months before I purchased my Fabspeed.
It is still perfect (a bit discolored from the heat now). By the way, it is identical to the one for $76 + shipping on eBay (and the polished one will discolor after use). It is yours for $35 (I will pay shipping - UPS Ground - to a domestic address).

I will take that ! P.M me so we can work it out. I don't think it could be louder then my straight pipe off my turbo.
Thanks Steven

Sorry, sold and shipped to Steven today. If you are going to purchase one, make sure it is aimed downward. I had another dump pipe that was straight, and it blew hot exhaust gasses right into the back of my bumper and scorched things - really sucked. The downward turn blows the gasses at the pavement. - Mike

The one thing I noticed at the track about the long ones purchased off ebay (I have one) was that my car would overboost by about .1 bar with it installed. I'd take it off, run the stock one that came with the GHL headers and I'd get 1.0 bar again (or if I ran without a dump pipe at all).
Just keep it in mind. Watch your boost the first time you run it, you may see it go a little higher than you normally see (if you are running a non-electric boost gauge). Brian

I never had any problems with any of mine (stock with muffler, straight off eBay, curved off eBay, or my current really long one from Fabspeed). Something else must have been an issue.

Just sharing my experience. Of course , I have a pretty modified 930, so that could contribute as well.
But pretty easy to identify that the pipe was the issue. Put on the one from ebay, took it out on the track, 1.1Bar. Came in, pulled it off, put old GHL one back on - go back out - 1.0 bar. Now I just run without anything - 1.0 Bar. Brian

I tend to agree. Should not affect boost levels at all -

You are correct - it shouldn't make a difference. But the only difference I saw was the diameter of the pipe compared between the GHL/ebay one - ebay one had smaller diameter - maybe that restricts the exit of the exhaust from the wastegate just enough to allow it to overboost - after all , I'm only talking about .1bar here.
Like I said, just sharing what I experienced. If you don't experience it, great. But if you are bolting one on for the first time, just pay attention to the boost level - that's all.
