EFI - what are you using
For those that have already converted to EFI, what management system did you choose, and would you choose the same one again? Also, given what you know now, would you convert to EFI if you had it to do over?

I have tec2 running my EFI. I'm getting ready to upgrade my ECU to DTA. You need to find a dyno shop that understands your ECU.

Not to make things difficult, but could the folks who have replied (or plan to) include a url or other info regarding the EFI system. I'm very experienced in tuning Bosch SEFI based systems - mainly modifying the OE Ford (which is all Bosch) engine management systems. I an 110% certain that I could take a Tarus V6 ECM, MAF and wiring harness along with a plug-in interface (www.eec-tuner.com - I've used these on 3 different cars including a 670HP n/a road race mustang where I totally modified OE Ford program), and adapt it to a 930 motor. I'll bet that is what most of these systems are - either speed density or mass-air Bosch systems with Ford harnesses.

"You need to find a dyno shop that understands your ECU."
If your not quite confident in your tuning ability, this can't be over emphasized. I have DFI on one of my cars and where I live I'm on my own. Sure it runs, but I haven't found a local dyno that feels confident improving on my skills. Its supercharged so I'd like a verification before the 700hp is unleashed fully. It got rebuilt after eating a piston landing in its last state running SDS. I like the interface of DFI, but check for local support. I'm going to try Mega Squirt on my 3.0 ITB first, then if happy on the 3.x TT.

I run the OEM Motronic EFI system. OEM DME and OEM loom. I'm considering map/speed density and I think I will go with a modified Protomotive Motronic for ease of installation and comes fully callibrated with a base map for a 3.3 EFI Turbo and also bored out throttle body with appropriate IAT and TPS sensor already mounted

I'm running a MegaSquirt setup that includes both EFI and ignition (dual plug EDIS). Here's a link to some details.
I like doing it all myself and have a good electronics and tuning background. This is not a plug and play solution but since it is essentially open source hardware/software, there's a lot of support in the MegaSquirt community.

We have installed Haltech on a bunch of cars, from a Supercup we made into a twin turbo, to RX7 turbos, Supra Turbos, some Mitsus, and a bunch of other Porsche turbos (n/a also).
We have also installed Electromotives from way back, from the Tec1 up and including the Tec3. We now have chosen to stick with Haltech.. the Tec have some weird quirks that we arent to impressed with. Not being able to grab a file from the ECU is just one. On my personal car I installed a Link ECU its a good system, not well known here, but the sytem works fine, and the software is easy to use.

Many of the systems now can be based on manifold pressure (speed density), or throttle position (alpha-n) or a combination of the two. Wild cams screw up vacuum signals, you can set up mixed scheduling until you get into boost. etc...

What about Simple Digital Systems? I was thinking about getting one of their ECU's for my conversion.

I'm running a Motec M600 ECU and I've been having problems. It may just be software, my tuner has gone back to an earlier version and it seems to be working. He still hasn't completed the tuning so the jury's still out.

I chose to use Megasquirt however. Not as straight forward as it is a lot more DIY but its been fun & has quite a number of good features.
