What makes you think it's an adjustable boost knob verses a knob of some other sort?

930LDR 03-04-2007 04:29 PM

Be careful... could be brake bias

h20cooled7 03-04-2007 05:26 PM

does it sound stock? vent control of some sort? i can see plumbing off my wastegate going to the front.

flatspin911 03-04-2007 11:15 PM

I have a Boost Knob kit for sale on Ebay if you want to see what pictures look like of this type of unit. Its quite significant and has the hoses runnig from the wastegate to it and back.

Yup, that's a boost knob. I can see the regulator body behind the carpet.

Craig 930 RS 03-06-2007 06:36 PM

Why would someone add a boost knob to a CIS turbo motor.....

h20cooled7 03-07-2007 10:01 AM

SO THIS WILL DO NOTHING ON A CIS MOTOR?

R Wilco 03-07-2007 10:59 AM

Yea it will. I would suggest you make your adjustments in 4th gear. In every other gear things are happening way to fast.

Craig 930 RS 03-07-2007 11:15 AM

Hell yes, it will.
I assume you have EFI and he computer is adjusting the AFR when you goof with the knob.

No, you have CIS and when you "crank the knob" you are seriously messing with the AFR. This isn't an Eagle Talon, Evo, WRX, or a car with a computer.

Get above .8 bar without verification of all functioning CIS components, and you are in unknown territory.

Check, verify, and keep the boost at one level.
I guess I don't understand the obsession with "adjustable boost" - on a stock CIS 930, it is damn foolish.

h20cooled7 03-07-2007 03:27 PM

no the car is not stock i think it is a stage one ********. i think i just wnat to set for maximum boost ,can i just shut it off and leave it?

Craig 930 RS 03-07-2007 03:34 PM

We need to see some pictures and specifications - take some and dig up the info you have.

h20cooled7 03-07-2007 06:07 PM

i dont have any info thats why im asking . I bought the the car sight unseen off the net. pretty scary huh but it all went in my favor. the guy who sold it to me didnt tell me all the goodies that i got with it. i adjusted the valves and the valvetrain looked great inside. if i want full boost do i turn it clockwise or counterclockwise? i just want to put it on full boost and leave it there.

Craig 930 RS 03-07-2007 07:19 PM

Dial it up all the way and tell us what happens. Nah, don't.
Take any pictures yet?
Let's see the intercooler, boost knob, turbo, top end and the car itself.

h20cooled7 03-08-2007 03:30 AM

ill try to get them this weekend, how do you repost pics on this thread? or is it easier to just post a new one?

R Wilco 03-08-2007 09:49 AM

Get on a highway with no traffic. Preferably straight for several miles. Get it in 4th gear with the pedal floored so you are showing full boost. Then adjust it accordingly.

Sounds like fun!!
