G50 Shift Pattern
Where is reverse on a 1989 930 5 speed tranny? Right-Back or Left-Forward like the 964? Any of you '89 owners want to clue me in?
Thanks, Drew |

If it's the same as the G50 5spd on the '87 - '89 Carrera's, it'd be far LEFT-FWD.

you should feel the resistance of the gate when you slide it into that gear shouldnt you? It should be the only gear that you can feel the gate.

Left - forward. If you can go straight back through neutral then you were in first gear, not reverse. Ask me how I know.

I hate that about the G50. I love the 915's reverse being below 5th, much much better IMO.

I'll tell you what's confusing...go drive your 930 g50 or 964 and then go jump in a 928 S4 with the five speed. It'll "F" you all up in the head
