First page, earlier post shows the first 930S. I saw this car for sell in Vegas for $250k. Looked great in person. Also had a couple of Ford RS200's, one was an EVO. Quickest production car ever. Still holds the record. Pretty good for a 1986 car. Too bad they did not have a 959 to go with it. They went head to head in Groupe B rally.

Brake Duct Vein Material.

I just bought a wrecked low mile 1987 Factory Slantnose and the veins have some foam in them. (some of them are broke unfortunately)

Now I wonder when they changed from wood to foam.

I suspect they went to composite shortly after the first one was built ('81?). I read somewhere they were wood....maybe Bruce Anderson's first book. But wood never really made any sense to me because of warping issues, swelling, weathering etc.
Just another myth propagated over time.

I agree. I was glad to finally find some real evidence one way or the other.

Here's my factory 89 slant. B&B headers, kokeln intercooler and K27. Looks to have either a full rebuild at one point but I'm not sure. I purchased it in Oct 2009 and have put on about 2000 miles, maybe. I absolutely love the slants. Nice pictures everyone. Here`s a pic when it was delivered and one of the light engine bay cleanup

1982 Porsche 930 3.3 Turbo Flachbau ‘Sonderwunsch’

Hi Chaps,

Just to keep this thread alive

Sold off my previous 930 a couple of months back, and got back into a 930 yesterday, although I am only collecting the car tomorrow.

This is quite a special car, it was one of the first slopenose conversions done by Werke I, before they made the iconic pop up lights starting from 1983.

To those who have followed a previous thread, I have been "stalking" this car for the longest time.

The car has had some "work" done to it since it left the factory, but the important bits are all there.

Here is what I know about the car thus far.

93CS000936 is an original flatnose, the conversion was completed at "Werk 1" (factory 1) on Aug 30, 1982 and was delivered to SIngapore via Ngo Hock (Porsche importer in 82).

Invoice Date: 29.09.1982 (Registered: 22 Nov 1982)

- Chassis no: WPOZZZ93ZCS000936
- Engine no: 67C0980
- (Chassis and engine are matching numbers... type 930771 coupe)
- Country spec: C26 Singapore
- Exterior colour u3: Zinn metallic
- Carpet colour 1VD: champagne

- Gearbox Type: G93034
- Gearbox Nr.: 77C0990

Z-Order" (Z stands for Zusatzauftrag) used for special wishes

The option list included all country-specs © as well as the "special wishes" (F) options (flat nose conversion).

- 058: impact absorbers, front and rear (F)
- 197: stronger battery (F)
- 220: locking differential 40% (F)
- 261: door mirror - flat - passenger's side, electrically adjustable and heatable (F)
- 483: differing engine parts for RHD ©
- 492: headlamps for left-hand traffic ©
- 559: air conditioner (F)
- 576: no fog tail lamp ©
- 577: windscreen tinted green (F)
- 592: brake fluid level indicator ©
- 650: electrical sliding roof (F)

I know of a few of these still running around, including a fully restored "sister" car here in Singapore.

Any information on these slopenoses would be much appreciated. In due course I want to return this back to the way it left the factory.

Sorry I only have one lousy picture of the car for now. I will get more up when I collect the car.

Thanks

Raj

Really nice early 930S Raj. Thanks for posting and sharing with us.

What things need to be changed back to make it stock again?

Would this be the color? It looks silver but it has a hint of gold in it. My friend owns this 88 factory slant.
