930 CIS and 3.0SC
Will a 930 CIS work on SC heads or do the need to be matched to the 930 manifold?
Thanks!

CIS doesn't care...it only senses airflow and dispatches fuel. It doesn't know what it sits on.

It is not a simple bolt on to the 911SC layout. The fuel metering plate drops down on the turbo and rises on the 911SC among other subtle differences. In theory it does not matter but in practice is another.
Why go thru the trouble of adopting this.....the 911SC manifold is a better design than the turbo log.

930 CIS intake manifold will bolt onto SC heads with no modification other than you need the 930 intake bolts (they are longer than SC intake bolts).
Yes this is an easier route for turbocharging and SC engine. All of your fuel issues/modifications go away. You will need to also incorporate the 2nd fuel pump and 930 fuel accumulator. IAMCHAPPY on this board has done this on his 3.0L 914. Do a search and give him a holler.

...See, NOW Brian tells me that I need a 930 fuel accumulator too. This post was good for something ;-)

Yes to the straight forward bolt up, and also the wiring, all the plugs that go to the WUR and CSV and ARR work the same.
You also need a throttle plate from a 930. I am using a Bosch 004 single pump, the front pump which is an SC pump, is the same as the 930's. I havent seen any reason to run two but i do know it would be easier on the one pump to do so, fuel delivery is not a problem with the 004. Opening up the 930 insolator injector blocks a few mil's is a good idea and honing a little off the intake to match them. All is good in turbo land......

Basically, if you wish to utilize stock 930 components, you need everything that the 930 fuel system must have to function. That includes but is not limited to:
fuel head WUR cold start injector throttle body and linkage BOV assembly fuel accumulator injector blocks - port matching is a good idea.

So if I purchased a complete CIS I would be good to go?
How do I open it up? With a Dremel? Do either you are Chap have a pic of what I would have to hone? Thanks

Basically you can go by the diameter of the SC injector block gasket. you cant match it as there is not enough material in the stock 930 injector blocks to hone them out that far without them cracking. i think 37mm dia. is what is recommended.
I purchased my 86 cis 930 intake from Schnele, it came as a complete system with a modded Euro fuel head and honed intake and injector blocks so i didn't have to do it, but i would think a small SS wire wheel would work fast and safe on the injector blocks and a dremmel on the intake. I've not done it, but the information is out there. Another alternative are the after market $ aluminum injector blocks.

So why is the 930 fuel accumulator necessary?
How different is the throttle linkage? Thanks for the help.
