How many of us 930 owner's have concealed carry permits?
Well there seems to be a fare number of fellow 930 owners with the first name of Mark. This is curious enough, but what about firearms.
So how many of us have concealed carry permits, and what do you carry? I'm partial to my Colt 1911 .45 combat commander, and have carried since 1979 when I turned 21. Mark |

I wish! The Honolulu PD does not believe in carry permits and will not issue them.

Where is this thread going? What relevance does it have to being a 930 owner? Is there some sort of nexus between being a Porsche owner and carrying a concealed weapon? Is ownership of a Porsche somehow justification for carrying a gun in the car? Are we afraid of car jackings or some sort of assault? I just dont' know what or where this thread is going.....maybe I'm just dense.

Well I have my great, great, great uncle's Brown Bess and powder horn...he was a redcoat in The British Army during the Revolutionary War... BTW..it was made by the French! I don't dare try to fire it...but it looks cool over the fireplace. Just not very easy to carry concealed.

Glock 19. Every once in a while my High Power for old times sake. Two extra hi caps driving home from work in Miami if it is late at night. Ever notice how the sport seat seems to have been made for concealed carry? Had to be designed that way.

Chuck: I think this thread is a result of the bonding that's been going on throughout the Name behind the Screen Name thread, behind the "Thoughts on Porsche lately" thead and the general concensus that 930 owners are the rough guys of the aircooled 9xx gruppe. There seems to be a great deal of information seeking on each other as we become closer, the result of which is a few "OT" theads, but heck there's enough info provided here that can be found doing a search to justify a few "OT" theads.
For myself - its nice to know there are people out there that are responsible enough to go through the effort and trouble to ensure the safety of themselves and their families through the means afforded us by the States we live in. Not to say all concealed carry guys are responsible, but for the most part, I believe a well armed and well trained citizen is a great asset. Back on topic: If you're going to state the weapon, post a pic of it I love to see the various personal carries.Mine: .45 ACP Colt M1991A1 Wilson Combat 8 round mags loaded with Federal frangible ammo & 1 in the pipe, always cocked and locked when carrying. Crimson Trace laser grips which have helped me considerably at diagnosing trigger pull, breathing issues. Upgraded extractor & polished feed ramp, she's at the gunsmith right now getting the extractor port filed down in certain areas. I noticed slight dimpling on the spent casings last time at the range. Most potent thing that won't over penatrate and will put anything down it touches, the first time. The 930 of handguns. ![]() ![]()

Sig, but rarely pack. Its just that a permit makes it easier to buy an interesting piece when it comes on the market. Also, make trips to the woods easier.

I was looking at a shotguns last week whan taking the concealed permit class, im thinking of getting a stockless pump shotgun to keep at home. One of my employees bought one while there. So I was thinking of carrying the 380 and then just keeping the 357 at work.

H&K USP .40 The question is, why do so many 930 owners carry? Hmmm...to ward off that drooling thief that can't wait to steal your ride? Or just because...because you can?

Have had one for almost 20 years. No pics, but my edc is a stainless Colt Mustang .380. I'm old school in my guns as well as my cars and my favorite is my Browning Hi Power.

Gabe, the Colt .45 really is similar to the 930 in so many ways... cool, classic, and in every sense, a pretty damn near perfect design. I have shot one or two at the range, and just like driving the 930, it just FEELS so right.
![]() ![]() (Craig's 930 BTW, one of my favorite pix ever) I would hate to see the poor SOB who gets the bizness end of those combat rounds. I treat a fair number of gunshot wounds in the ER on a regular basis, but most of the gangstas out there actually opt for pea-shooter .22, .38 rounds and every now and then 9mm. I think .45's must go straight to the morgue.

I like my Glock 20C with a M6 tactical laser/illuminator.
Works well with Hydra Shock Ammo. 10mm is an oddball round, but man does it pack a whallop! ![]()
