Intercooler with CryO2?

I just read article about cooling intake and intercooler with CO2 What do you think could it work with ours intercoolers? Or maybe some of us use it?

I think about intercooler cooling. They claim to go up with more than 50% of efficiency.
I will not install it probably but it is interesting in compare with new hi-efficiency intercooler upgrade.

I read more about this system and I think it is not usefull to us as :
*CO2 works as a fire extinguisher and displaces oxygen.
*Engines use this oxygen, combined with fuel, to make power.
Ingesting even a small amount of CO2 into the air intake will slow car down.
*It will be impossible to use an intercooler spray bar without ingesting residual gases from the intercooler spray to airfilter....

You could do the same thing with nitrous oxide. A 10lb bottle fill is usually around $35.
The bottle pressure is similar, it's icy cold when going from liqued to gas, and any vapor that eventually gets sucked into the engine intake will definately not reduce power.

they are not spraying it into the air intake. It's just cooling the pipes and intercooler. Co2 is cheaper than nitrous.

with that said it's a gimiky ricer bolt-on that has no real practical use

reread what i wrote... where did i say spray it into the intake?

i have seen some drag racers (on TV) spray nitrous over the intercooler with a spraybar as another cheap and quick way to cool it.
no new ideas here, it's all been done before.. lonnng before the internet.

and anyone off the street can buy nitrous oxide from a speed shop, easily.

How long would a bottle last is another question? We were kidding about adding it to the cars for the track, but you would be out of NOS long before the 30 minute session was up. Then you would just be carrying around extra weight.

A portion of anything you spray on the intercooler willl make it into the air intake, since it opens into the area below the intercooler, unless you rig some kind of duct from the air filter straight to the A/C Condensor (if you have A/C), or straight to the grill.

These were my exact thoughts on this.

It would work great for a couple of minutes! (as long as you don't such that sprayed CO2 into intake, which is probably what would happen).

Looks like a complicated band-aid solution to the problem that was solved long ago.
