930 ROW factory exhaust vs. US model
Can anyone out there confirm that the mounting straps on the US factory 930 muffler/cat will also fit the Euro (ROW) factory exhaust? I know that it is a direct bolt on procedure but cannot recall if different straps were necessary when my mechanic made the swap.
Any input appreciated. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-used-parts-sale-wanted/532438-930-euro-exhaust-muffler.html

That is a great looking muffler! You should sell to someone who is restoring a 930 to factory spec as these are not common and never in good condition.
The staps are the same for the Euro 930 to '85 and the US 930 '76-79'. You need the correct bracket as well. US'86-'89 have a different setup.

I suspect the non cat euro muffler was not that bad of a performance muffler. One report is there is about 10hp to be had with an open exhaust over it on a 400 hp motor but I can not confirm this.
Weight is another question. |

Both the stock Euro muffler and properly functioning cat/muffler combo will cost you 12WHP on a 300WHP car when compared to my muffler. I've dynoed them a few times.
