Try to buy an unmolested car that isn't all modded' out, and you'll need to drive it for at least 50-100 miles to make SURE the engine and tranny is tight. DON'T be suckered into seeing a pretty car and get all starry-eyed only to find it has major issues hiding. If the owner or place of business won't let an independent check out the car...RUN like hell!
Have an independent do a valve/broken stud check as well. $$$$ well spent(and won't be found in many cases driving it), otherswise you could find yourself getting home, only to find you now have a $15-30K investment to make an engine servicable. 911/930 engine/tranny repairs are VERY expensive, so "let the buyer beware"... Like buying a home, don't buy a fixer-upper(expecially a Turbo). They generally wind up costing significantly more than just buying out something that's already well sorted out. Good luck! |
Thanks for your information. It seems it has just 3000 miles since rebuild so unless it was poorly done or terribly abused since it should be OK especially if he used ARP hardware in rebuild. Hence the need to speak with him. According to a post by Reaper it is well sorted out as he seems to know about the car so that is good to know.
