79 930 CIS - need valuation help

I got this assembly from a buddy of mine to sell and need some help figuring out the value. From what I understand it came off a running low mileage 1979 930 motor with broken rings approx 6 years ago. It has been stored inside since being removed. I would prefer to sell it whole and not take anything off it. Someone tossed the number out there of $1200 - I thought I would check and see if that was realistic or not. Neither I or my buddy ever saw the engine run prior to taking this system off so it would be sold as is.

Sounds like a fair starting point.

Fletcher, the CIS fuel system off of the 87' is a US spec system, where as the 79' is what is commonly referred to a "Euro" system.

Josh, I would clean the dirt, grime, etc off of the parts, making them look in much better condition. I would not see why you should not be able to get atleast $1000.00 or so.

I would think that the US system would be worth a few hundred less.

Hi Brad,

Thanks for the advice. Is there a way from a part number that I can verify that it is from a 1979? I don't have any proof that this was an original CIS setup for this motor.

The black fuel distributer makes it either an early US car or a Euro car.

That appears to be from a '78/9, US or Euro 930. The value is in the completeness of the system. You can assume that every component needs to be rebuilt due to both age and lack of use. Core value for the parts is $600 so that is the bottom value.
There may be date stamps on the BOV and intake but it makes little difference as that part of the system didn't change from '78/9 US and '78-'85 Euro.

-037 Fuel Head and -054 WUR are both early intercooled 930 part numbers begining in late 1977. '78/9 USA or '78-'89 Euro for the Fuel Head and '78/9 only for the WUR.
If the WUR is original then the system is indeed a '78/9.

Well - ran this through ebay at $1200 and didn't have any takers - just three watchers. I just relisted it with a starting bid of a penny and a reserve of 1k. We'll see what happens
