Chris the anticipation is reaching a fever pitch here. I know that there are a lot of details to wrap up so I don't mind as long as it is done right. The interesting thing about this build is that it has been open to the scrutiny of this very knowledgeable community and to date no one has said - you know I like that but here is a better way-. Not to boldly say that TurboKraft is the all end all of shops but it instills me with the sense that this time I am really getting my money's worth.

I'm an anal-bastard so here's my scrutiny...................somebody needs to scrape off the SpeedWerks sticker on the back window.

(Early apologies to Lincoln and Chris for the bad humor, looking great guys!)

No point well taken I cringed when I saw it in one of the shots.

I think it's an awesome build with great attention to detail and I'm really happy for Lincoln that's it done.

With that said, I'll make one comment: I'm just not a fan of the all thread to support the coil spacing. There... it's not perfect

Thumbs up

It’s the exciting penultimate chapter! Now comes the fun tedious part of verifying all the wiring and sensor inputs and checking for noise on that fussy MoTeC box. Can’t imagine the guys at Speedworks had many correct setups or options enabled on that ECU, judging by all the other cheat cuts. Take a deep relaxing breath Chris and pat yourself on the back, you have a lot to be proud of taking on this project!

Interested to hear your take on all the MoTeC corrections and comparisons with the AEM units.. if you have time!

Godspeed on the dyno tuning guys and hoping to see a bulletproof 562 whp. Patiently waiting the final (smooth) chapter!

3" mandrel-bent air intake done.
Whoever slapped the filter right on the turbo before and declared there wasn't room for an air intake just didn't try.
Where there's a will, there's a way.

Next to clean up the remaining wiring and get a cover back over the relay panel and everything concealed under it.
5.7 GT1 -- did you make any extra carbon fiber covers? It would go great with the CF fan shroud. :-)

One note Chris, the lower plugs popped off frequently because Speedwerks lost the RSR lower plug retainers I sent them. I think you mentioned you had some but I just wanted to remind you.

This thread would not be complete without some pictures showing where the adventure all began:
First, the pre-sale photos (Circa Sept 2004):

Then the delivery photos (April, 2005):

Hey Ed, I never noticed the adult video store in the background before, what a seedy neighborhood. Those were the days.

Please forgive my ignorance on the following question: does that long intake affect turbo lag in any way? Seems quite a long way for the turbo to get fresh air. Again, I have next to no knowledge about this type of thing. I am 100% confident that Chris knows what he is doing. Just wondering...

Hey...that's interesting to see how far Linc's beast have came from.

Linc,
You need to take a look at the new calendar I just finished last night. It has a few pics of you and your 930 during TurboPalooza 2009 (I'm still kicking myself for missing it). It should bring back good memories.

I love the stance of the car with the Ruf wheel and front bumper like that. Very cool and very nice engine upgrades. Neat coil pack location.
Did you or Chris ever consider an air intake through the rear fender? Bit like a scoop the newer watercooled turbos have?

Thanks for all of the before pics Lincoln! Not many would put their own face in there too. Kudos to you showing a happy porsche loving owner!

I know for a fact that the car was quite capable of pulling hard up to 160 prior to any modifications. Scary from the passenger seat, by the way. The lag and gear spacing offered by the original 4speed were really what made it not so much fun at slower speeds. Having driven it in the original config, 1st was too short coming out of a slow turn and 2nd was too tall in the low rpm range.
