Wow, they look nice! Any chance you could post a pic of one next to an original reflector just to compare?

The properties of the Kevlar necessitate more coats of the clear than the carbon, so we are going to do one more coat of clear before shipping, but here are pix of the (almost) finished product test mounted....

Well guys, the all red kevlar reflectors are pretty much done. We re-worked the clear coat a couple of times until we were happy with the results. They really look good!

Wow. Fantastic. Is there a weave pattern in the kevlar as well?
A close up perhaps?

Quat, your will be shipping this week
Another one mounted... ![]() We are spraying with a slight tint to make the kevlar 'pop' better after clearing, gives a nice tint to reflective lettering when illuminated. Looks like the 964 reflectors do in daytime with red script

[QUOTE=juicersr;6228045]Some of you asked to see better shotz of the red/black, so here they are. We will not technically be offering this option, but if u really want one in this, let me know. We will just be offering the traditional black and red, which should be done by next week.
![]() Ordered one of these too... :-) FWIW - This is the pic that convinced me.

As an update to this thread, thought some of you might be interested in our new replacment reflector, made from a composite known as 'Texalium'. Kevlar proved simply too difficult to work with for volume production, namely from the standpoint of creating clean edges and consistent resin impregnation. So we turned to a product created by the Hexcel Composite corporation, known as 'Texalium'. Essentially, it’s a fiberglass-basic fabric that has a proprietary finish and a thin coating of aluminum on the surface. The aluminum coating is 99.99% pure and approximately 200 angstroms in thickness (One angstrom being a billionth of a meter). This coating produces a highly reflective surface, allowing it to mimic the prismatic red characteristics of the factory reflector. We back it with a layer of 12k Carbon Fiber for rigidity.
The results are quite nice: ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() We will now be offering this Texalium composite reflector in addition to our carbon fiber version.
