So my 930 was destroyed .....

.. in an accident. RIP for my beautiful red 86 930. I only had it for 5 months but I loved that car.

..

If any of you guys see a worthy 930 replacement for sale out there, please send me a PM. I'm looking for a modified car. Got spoiled with the K29, 964 cams, headers etc that were on mine.

Thanks

In the first pic, your paint looks like glass... So sorry! Get you a slant:

Stupid, rhymes with "witch". Sorry about the crash. Are you keeping the car or does the insurance company keep it?

I'm trying to decide between a late model 930 with mods, a 965 or 993 turbo. The last two are more refined, but I still love the brutal simplicity of a 930.

It looks fixable. Someone can make a racecar out of it, even with a salvage title. Don't let it go to the crusher.

Any witnesses on your side? My wife recently got hit by another car, the other driver insisted my wife was wrong at first but there were plenty of witnesses. We ended up getting a very good price for the totaled car. Hopefully you can get back every cent you have invested in the car, and more.

Might be worth it to buy back to part out or transfer parts onto your next 930...

I agree with RSRFAN, Don't miss out on the opportunity to buy it back. I would at least inquire on the price. It could be very worth your while. Do you have any better photos of the damage? The repairs with a bit of thrifty parts hunting may not cost you as much as you think.

Stick with the 930 as you will miss it. I had a pristine 965 and it was quiet, fast and refined. OTOH, I also had my 86 930 with the mods listed below and you know which one I kept! The G50 in the 965 was sweet as was the ac. However, the car just seemed to drive "heavy". I don't know why it felt this way, but I preferred the driving characteristics of the 930 better. Plus, when that K29 spools it's like WHOA! until I upshift and it starts again...all the way up to 7k!

I hear you on AC. We had 70 days straight over 100F in Texas this summer. A Retroair upgrade saved me.
