What was the misfire in the end? I'm curious on the solution - went through something similar with a car I built and it ended up being either tired coilpacks or ECU grounds. Once I had that squared it was determined the wastegate was too small for the 67mm turbo.

Great job - looks like a beauty.

It has been a while now since I have posted on the end result of my build. Since I did the Turbo Kraft EFI and motor build. The car has been on many all day canyon burners. The car has been running flawlessly. The system that Turbo Kraft built and tuned is worth every bit of what I paid and more.

Last year I also did some more improvements to the car:

fit a G50 Gear box

installed a Hargett shifter

mach needed suspension work including:
parts from ER: shocks, pollybronze bushings, mono ball (rear control arms), new strut bushings, raised spindles, bump steer kit and heavier hollow torsions.

sway bars and strut tower brace from Tarett

After I installed everything I had a set of Nito R compound tires mounted.

The suspension was tuned by Jae at Mirage International hear in San Diego.

The car now performs amazingly!

I'm looking forward to getting the car out on the track some day.

Here are some pics of the console I built out of aluminum to accommodate the shifter and relocated e-brake / heater valve control.

Nice work on the center console! I have never seen anything like it. Good job and good to know how well your 930 is performing.

Great job on the console and update! More great work. How did you move the e brake? Did you lengthen the cable and add new base mounts to the chassis?

I had the idea for a long time of building a much bigger tunnel in to an old 911 and welding it in to the chassis to stiffen things up. Kind of like a big backbone. I haven't done any research, but if designed right I bet it would improve stiffness tremendously, I suspect.

Hey Doug,
I fabricated a clevis link/ rod that mounts to the cable system, extending it forward. Then re-drilled a couple of holes in the e-brake mounting plate to line up with the mounting holes where the stock shifter previously located.

Just came across this thread, and what a great read and an amazing car! I'd love to experience a 930 with these power levels one day.

That 930 is the total package: engine torque and power, Carrera G50 gearing, tight but not harsh handling, reduced weight...
Awesome.

After finally getting the car together, I fired it up for the first time and it was running really poorly like it was on three cylinders. I also noticed an oil leak on the initial start up. At that point I was tired of working on the project. The fabricating and build was fun, but not chasing oil leaks and tuning. I took the car to a friend’s shop in San Marcos KB Motorsports to have the oil leak addressed and a clutch issue as well. They were able to fix the oil leak but not the clutch issue as it most likely was a pressure plate defect problem.
I made an appointment with Chris at Turbo Kraft to take it to him for dyno tuning last Wednesday. I showed up first thing Wednesday morning with the car and ready for tuning in hoping they could also figure out what the clutch problem was.
Mike at Turbo Kraft dove right into the car to confirm all of my build/ installation was ok. Then he went into the trouble shooting of why the car was running on 1,2,3 cylinders. The crew at Turbo Kraft worked so fast, accurately and efficient my head was spinning. In a very short time they were able to diagnose the problem to my cam installation. Somehow I installed the 4,5,6 cam 180 degrees out. By noon Mike and Chris had the motor out of the car and were ready to fix the cam issue. While he was in there he check cam shaft parallelity, reset cam timing and adjusted the valves.

Motor went back in the car and we still were unable to get the clutch to release properly after adjusting it. The problem was the new pressure plate not disengaging till the pedal was ¼ inch from the floor. The car started right up and sounded good, just like six cylinders should. 
After all of that work, now onto the Dyno tune. While on the dyno the car’s exhaust was glowing orange, pretty cool. The not so cool part is; we ran into a boost control issue with the GSF headers. The tube feeding the wastegate is fed at a bad angle and is not able to flow enough into the wastegate at high RPM, allowing full boost control.
Chris and Tony are amazing tuners.
I have included a few pix and video to show the final numbers of the tune. I don’t have a print out of the power and torque curve yet, but will try to post something later.
Now the car is back in San Diego at KB Motor sports where they will be working to solve the clutch issue.
More to come…

Oh, and that GT1 is *awesome*. Someone should do the same with a 917 replica body, just for giggles
