Venetian blue 41k miles, new brakes,clutch,tuneup, and tires. No PPI yet but car looks and feels great.

One of the best values in the auto world today. Where else can one find the performance, history and .......

FWIW, I paid $31.5K for my Prussian Blue 930 in 2006 with 34.5K miles, now has 115K!

I've seen the prices ticking upward recently.
Unmolested, low mile cars are in demand. I think there is a trend for these cars to be exported to Europe and elsewhere. They sure ain't making anymore! Price 32-39k Last edited by Tt surgeon; 11-12-2011 at 07:56 PM.. |

Maybe in 2007 the price was much more, but with the ever-worsening depression, the prices of everything including Porsches are coming down, and I think they will continue to do so, at least I hope so, I want one

personally i think you will see a huge swing in prices of these cars in the next 5 years. kind of like what the older muscle cars did a few years back. they truly are a piece of history.

Asking ang getting is a wide gap today. 930's are being advertised in the $30's but most don't sell there. It will take good advertising and time to get a good price.

My observation of the 930 market is that prices have stabilized and demand pressure is starting to push prices up for clean unmolested no stories examples.
The modified cars tend to go for the lower prices vis-a-vis the above. If you are looking for a modified 930, its a great time to pick up some really well done cars. Between the repatriation of cars to Europe and this month's cover of Excellence calling the early 930s the next hot model, the market pressure will continue to push prices north. My car? Priceless. Not for sale.

I disagree. Actual selling prices will remain in the toilet as long as this recession drags on. Folks are still dropping out and cars coming on the market. The buyer pool is smaller than the selling pool. Concourse/collector condition cars are in a different legue with well healed recession resistant buyers paying good money. European buyers are primarily looking for '75-'77 930's. Drivers and modified cars are not holding value and are bargains for enthusiasts. The 965 has taken the biggest hit with a value reduction from the $70's four years ago to the mid to upper $30's now.

I recently saw a lightly modded 79 930 go for 35k, car was on great shape w 40ish miles.
There is a wide range in prices with geographic variation. Heavily modded cars are a whole nuther story |

I've been hearing that prices are going to increase since before I bought mine 4 years ago. I hope that is the case but I don't see much evidence of it. They built a bunch of these cars over a long production period so there are plenty of them to go around.
A few years back a 930 with some choice mods could keep up with some of the fastest cars built. Times have now changed and most of us would be doing good to keep pace with a new Audi TTRS. These cars are old, archaic, expensive, and lack many comforts of more modern cars. The people that lusted after them when they were new can now generally afford them. The generation behind them simply are not interested. One thing is for certain, if there is a rise in prices it won't happen until after mine has been destroyed or sold. |

I wouldn't buy one if these cars thinking it can be made to outrun a 997tt, it can't.
The trick to resale is to not go crazy with the mods. I would stop at the limits if the stock CIS and ignition. That being exhaust, IC, 1.0 spring, possibly a k27 and cams, that's it! If you're trying compare a 996tt with a 930 you're missing the essence of the 930... Its not always about speed. The feel and feedback with the road and the driver is unparelled by any Porsche today. If I buy another Porsche it'll be another 930, there truely is no substitute. Fewer and fewer original, unmolested examples exist, at least that are for sale...

Btw Venetian blue came out in '87, a similar color from '84- '86, would be either prussian blue or meteor. Or it could be a l999 paint-to-sample.
