Did mine...
on the weekend. Since the tranny was out of the car, I flipped it on it's side and put the whole jug of Sweptco in. Once it's installed, I'll pull the fill plug and see what comes out. Philip

Just make a note in your logbook or tape a note to the steering wheel. That's an easy one to forget in the scheme of things.

i changed my trans fluid over the weekend also, I have a 87 930. I pumped in Swepco until it started dripping out but it looks like less than half the gallon jug was used. Did i do something wrong? It was on jack stands with a slight rearward bias? I guess i put something like 1.5 liters in there max.

Did you make certain that all the old fluid drained out? Like others have stated, mine took almost the full gallon. 1.5L is way too little. I don't think a slight rearward tilt is going to make that much of a difference. I would try removing the drain plug and catch the newly added fluid into a clean bucket. Make sure it is all drained out and refill it with new fluid and/or the previously added fluid if it is clean and not mixed too heavily with old fluid.

Jim:
The Old Sled is also an 80 ROW with the original 4 speed. I just filled the trans and it took just short of 1 Gal. I used a long flex funnel and filled until fluid started running out, I continued to let it drip into a catch can until it stopped, stuck my finger in fill hole and the fluid was still at the hole. There was just less than a quart after I finished. Cole
