Actually the controller that is a home made one used by a friend of mine that holds several 1/4 mile world records on turbo motorcycles. (No wheelie bar) The AMA banded electronic controllers in one of the classes so he came up with a manual set up utilizing nitrious jets to adjust the boost ramp rate(very important on a traction limited turbo bike) It is a 2 stage system so you can trigger the high boost 2nd stage a mulitple of ways. Once the ramp rate was tuned, records quickly fell. Cost to put together the system is just over $120. A pretty good bang for the buck over the very expensive brand x costing close to $1000!

Damn we really have to do a get together for us florida boys. lots of cool 930's coming out of the woodwork

The boost was around 19 to 20lbs on the average throughout the runs. I'll put the 1 bar spring in soon which should allow better boost control at the higher settings? The Cams are really awesome for torque and overall performance. I would really love to connect with other efi 930 owners and do some meets like some of the other brand owners do. It would be great to exchange info and continue to improve our cars by exchanging knowledge :-)

Hmmm, looks smaller than mine.

Anyways, I was thinking if it were a T3, you were making HUGE power.

Ah, I just saw why I thought it was smaller. Your turbine to header flange extends out further than mine from the exiting hole making it appear the hole is small like a T3.

Do you ever go into the Florida section? I check it about once a week as the guys will post up a get-together occasionally.
I would love to bend your ear as my build will be very close to yours except i'm going to run a 3.6 turbo crank. Do you know Juan? Another very fast turbo P car down here

I have been racing her for 21 years , autocross , DE's and drag racing , I love drag racing, 1st with a N/A 3.2 engine in this car it turned 13.2 -13.3 @100 mph , Now with CIS 3.3 modified a little , my best 12.01 @ 124 mph , on street tires, a couple months ago I went to MIR and turn a 12.3 @ 119 mph , I'm a little rusty, I was having a low voltage problem to my fuel pump, it's fixed now , she back to her old self now, I driven her cross country (Boston to LA ) many times over the years with out any issues, PORSCHE the is no substitute !

Your car looks great Helio! Your car must be pretty light? I've always felt that the P cars perform better than most anything over all. I know some perform better at the 1/4 mile but could never compete on a road course on the same day. Also pretty much nothing can out brake a Porsche either.

Not to hijack, but helio, we have the near same stuff in our motors and turbo systems.

The one thing you have over me that is huge is the 964 cams. I think mine might hit closer to 500whp with those.

That twin-scroll really makes a difference I see since we have the same turbo because you are about 4 tenths quicker in the quarter.

That's a serious build and as someone said, seemingly out of nowhere.
There's a ton of guys from Florida on this board, whereas on muscle car forums i frequent most seem to be out West.
What's in the water down there?

thank you guys , It's expensive and hard to built a compromise 911 GT clone from a 1976 911S that can handle all the stuff I do with her, including shows and being a daily driver also except for rain and snow, but I have done both at one time or another , I try not to,

I don't know if you realize it Tippy but your car is putting down ~65 WHP more than Helios'. Your numbers are rear wheel and his are flywheel.
My old red rocket is very close to Helio's figures, 2700#/360WHP. Low 12's in the 1/4. My setup is very simple using a K27-7200, 0.75bar boost, SC cams, 1/2 bay intercooler and my exhaust system. Fuel system is stock and the WUR is adjustable.

The EFI 500+WHP 930's are monsters. I've driven a couple and the **** happens so fast you really need to pay attention. The stock 4spd gearing is actually too low in 1st and 3rd for that level of torque.

jetjox i would like to ask for your okay to post the dyno chart for the ls7 engine that i just installed in my 1978 930. dont wish to horn in but i would like an assessment by the high horsepower group regarding the torque and hp and rpm chart and what i might expect compared to the turbo power. you guys have much more expertise than i do as well as real life experiences on the track. the engine is naturally aspirated and the car weighs in at 2350 pounds. i will post the dyno chart if it is okay.... thanks maxwedge528

What's in the water down there?

I'm also a muscle car car as well I've been dynoing my 69 Camaro just tonight with a 632" motor. Nothing quite like the sound of a high compression BB
