Werk1..I had to clock both sides of the turbo in order to make things fit right. I ordered a turbo oil drip tank from fabspeed. The one I had would not work with the Ruf muffler. If you need a pic let me know.
Emptytank...that was funny..

In 1985 a customer of ours buys a Ruf BTR from Ruf and sends it to our shop. Then he wanted a louder muffler. We took this one off and it has been on the shelf for 37 years. I don’t see any Ruf markings. What are your thoughts. Is it a 930 S muffler that Ruf used?

It’s definitely not the power kit exhaust pictured above, that exhaust is a spare I bought for my 930 WLS. ![]() ![]()

I had the same one on my BTR, it had no RUF markings on it and from memory it weighed 17 kg.

I was tipped off to this discussion by another member who knows I'm in need of a BTR muffler, one I got rid of many years ago, like 20? That one sustained water damage so I didn't think it was useful at the time. I got rid of the engine too then. I was much younger and thought I would not be doing it back to Ruf BTR III spec. Recently I've acquired a BTR motor which is being rebuilt. I really would like to keep the car original or bring it back to how I got it 23 years ago. It was 964 turbo look, so the muffler outlets came straight out the back, not sides. I remember there was a RUF stamp into the bracket somewhere. I sold it on the yahoo auction back then. Finding one like that may be impossible. Any advice? Thank you in advance for any help.
