I have a narrow body that weighs 2750 and ~500hp.
It doesn't scare me but I know it can easily kill me on narrow roads if it were to get out of control. |

I sold the 8:41 to MSRoadRace [guy on Ebay] for about $450, and he went and sold it for over $2K. He determined it was a coveted "rare" german version [forgot the name]. I guess that's why he's good at what he does...

Depends on my tires!
New, and I think I have around 350HP at the flywheel, not that scary. Not so new, learning how to throttle stear again. Eliminating turbo lag seems to be the key to keeping it between the lines. I would imagine that the higher HP cars do that as a result of the mods to get there. Nothing quite like accelerating from 120 when you shift into 4th......uhhhh........so I've heard.

700 hp or so gets my attention
Watkins Glen It depends where you use it..... 700+ hp on a racetrack with skilled drivers and good equipment.... you kind of forget the power you have... Mixing that level of power on the street is not very wise

422 at the rear wheels, 466 ft-lbs.
Miserable to drive; if you weren't wide open she'd buck and fight. Far nicer car with the HP dialed down to 380+....LOL!

400hp is nice, 545hp is even better 600+ is stupid and scary , if you are not using drag radials on the rear as your regular tires then you are not making that much power lol

To what "1986 930" and Juan states, once my rear tires are worn, traction is pretty bad. In my G50, 2nd gets useless, 3rd is a handful, and 4th can be squirrelly at times.

I agree with it also has to do with where it is used. If someone is using 600hp in the middle of the desert on a Vegas from CA run , well the power can be usable. The have someone laying down full throttle 400hp getting on the LIE and you can wet your pants knowing you also have to stop fairly quickly.
One see scary hp? Look on Nelson Racings web site. They should sell Depends with those engines. |

I believe what is scary is inversely proportional to the size of your testicles lol

Mark Donohue said that if you can leave two black stripes from the apex of one corner to the turn in point of the next you had "sufficient" hp. he said the Porsche 917 was the only car he ever drove that had that........

Scary is not only relative, but easily influenced. I find my car (rsr/2200/540whp/540wtq) terrifies everyone who has been a passenger in it. However when myself or my buddy Marco drive it, it actually seems pretty well set-up. What I mean by that is the car is stable, it may spin the 355's on the rear all the way through 140km/h, but it goes straight and feels good. This same car, weighing 200#'s more with half the horsepower felt scary to drive (at speed). It had old 255 tires, and the suspension wasn't ideal.
So in short, I think scary to drive has less to do with the power/weight/visceral (gutted, loud, etc) and more to do with how controllable the car is. |

2650 lbs here and 514 HP.........that is some scary ****.
I won't run treaded street tires....old track tires only on the street.

My 3.1 turbo 914 with short gears scares me sometimes, things happen pretty fast when throttled down. Lifted the front tires shifting from 2nd to 3rd last fall, kinda scary......

Iamchappy: do you know how much hp or boost you are running? How much weight on your 914?
