Old Skool fans
Took the car to Carlsbad Cars and Coffee this past Saturday because the San Diego PCA chapter was in attendance and I wanted to see some nice iron. The local dealer brought out some new stuff and a Carerra GT was in attendance as well as some really nice early cars. All in all, my pig garnered some nice attention even if the wheel fans confused the import and camaro crowd... I spent some time polishing up the aluminum "blades" but left the original finish on each dish as I think 35 years of patina suits the build. Hope you like.

I really, really appreciate all the kind words guys. I look around this place and realize that I am standing on the shoulders of giants. Most days, I open up your threads and am truly inspired at just how extremely talented, some would say obsessed, you are. The fact that we can individualize these cars the way we do speaks volumes. I wouldn't want to sell my car, but I would assuredly like to own quite a few of yours...
Toby, the wing started out as a DP that was modified to fit the Carrera lip. No purist here. Just trying to keep up with the Ole Guy...

What wheels are those? I was little kid in the '80's so I have no idea what those are.
Have any close ups? |

I'm not much of a fan of bolt-on flares but you pulled it off on this one. Really nicely done.
Years ago I had a set of very large 80's wheels that had the fans. At the time I didn't know what they were, thought them ugly and practically gave them away. That old racecar stuff has some value nowdays.

Tippy, the wheels are BBS E50 magnesium centers in sizes 17x10.5 front and 17x13 rears.
Kinein, you should have said hi. I was out with my 9 year old daughter checking out the scene |

You are so correct. A lot of the race stuff was disposable, throw away type gear and its rarity makes it valuable today... |

To tell you the truth I was exhausted from driving since 4am coming from bakersfield. I didn't realize that was your car. I was checking out your shifter and wheels. What size tire you have on that 17? Are you going to cars and coffee on the 16th?
