If I bought any car with 19's , I would find myself "tolerating" them at best .17's good on 930 , 16's good on 930's. My opinion only

I have 18's on my car currently. I have a spare set of 19" ADV.1's for my 996TT. I mounted them up once on my 930 to see what they looked like out of curiousity. MY particular set has a large step lip setup and they honestly don't look like 19's. If my car was lower, the 19's wouldn't look horribly out of place.

With all that to say - I think it depends more on the style of the wheel. a 19" monobloc wheel with no lip looks a lot bigger than a 19" step lip.

For reference, this is my 930 on 18" ADV.1 5RS's:

This is a shot of my ADV.1 10TF's on my 996TT:

I guess it's hard to imagine the wheels flip-flopped, but the step lips on the 19's make them look smaller. Honestly they didn't look as bad as I would have thought.

I wouldn't hesitate to run a 18" wheel on a 930.

Hope that helps.

Chris.

I think Champions RG5 19" looks good on a 965 body style (not my car, picture stolen from the internet).
I have 18"s on my 965 and the ride is good. I may consider going 19" when I need new tires. I wouldn't go more than 17" on 930.

18's front, 19's in rear. not exactly 930 flares but the factory ran 16's front and 19's rear on the 935's…

Those wheels look fantastic on the 996TT
Two garages and concrete driveway... nice!

LOVE those... Are they the wheels advertised on D zug's website? I have really been thinking about a set for my 930. I really dig them - they kind of remind me of the old Veilside 5 spoke wheels, or Work Equips.

I've had 15's, 17's and 18's on the Red Rocket, sorry no 19's. Here are side shots to compare the looks.

I went with 17" Lindsay Fuchs, which provides greater tire selection but still retains the original look.

my car is also marine blue and has the zuffenhaus versions.

your car looks wicked!!!

18's are not to my taste but can look nice. 19's make the car look like a roller skate.

18's on the cab. If I were to do it again I think I would go 17's.

The better the fitment under the fender (height and width) on any car - looks the best, to a degree.

18" look the best and seem to be perfectly proportioned with the 930's fenders. Fuchs do look nice is 16" with a fat tire and the car lowered.

Mine are 18" X 315 in the rear and look made for it IMHO.

Frank

Looks killer. Very nicely done! Your car shows that a good ride height sets the 18's off. I really don't see why folks say 18's look too big. I love mine as well.

I suppose that it is just a matter of personal taste/preference - to me, the wheels on the black 930 above look much too big for the car (absurdly so), not to mention that I think they look too modern for such an old school body design. I suppose this is similar to how there are endless debates in the 911 forum on whether or not a 911 should have a wing; some say they are embarrassed to be seen in a 911 with a tail, and other's such as myself, think they don't look right without them. At least all of the variety keeps things interesting.

My 1987 with 17" BBS the PO put on (Lucky me I think....). Those Lindsey's on that charcoal gray on the first page look incredible.

Ferraripete- can you post a pic of your Marine Blue car with the Zuffs? I'd love to get an idea how it looks.

Thanks and happy holidays!
