I think the JFK and american flag bits are a bit over the top for a car largely assembled in the uk, and masterminded by a guy with a pretty sketch past.

THat being said, .7g of acceleration at 170 mph is silly

Only the cockpit somewhat remains Lotus. Everything else is different from what I remember.

Wow. 0.5g at 220 mph.

That is some amazing acceleration. Wow.

Too bad it's not an official record, as you have to run both directions for that, and NASA would only let them run in one direction. Veyron Super Sport has the VW owned test track and it's record of 269 and change stands for the moment. Of course, all a bit academic anyway...

Hennessey Venom GT - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The chasis is lotus but the subframes and bodywork are bespoke.

The final assembly is done in the UK however. I suspect that it is subcontracted to some race shop but Im not sure.

This is why I said assembled in the UK, not because of the lotus DNA, though there is plenty

Also, have we finally found a car that can keep up with a 930 in mexico ?

Whoaaaa!

That is still very impressive no matter where it is built... Now one has to ask, "can it turn left and right ?"

Agreed, but the giant american flag flying is a bit over the top.

Id love to see the stig pilot one in top gear, I suspect it can turn but is probably a handfull.
