My 86 USA del is another non sunroof.I didn't think too much about it when I purchased it as to how few there seem to be until I started attending shows and seeing more and more 911's.I preferred a sun roof and a different color other than red but we fell in love at first sight so I guess all wasn't lost

My '77 ROW is non sunroof (930 770 0192). I have a COA from PCNA which is reasonably accurate, but I unfortunately don't have the Kardex for this car which would probably be more precise given this was originally a German market car. The COA doesn't mention sunroof at all (e.g. it doesn't explicitly say non-sunroof).
![]() FWIW I also have a '77 US 911 full line brochure. On the page listing standard equipment for 930, it does *not* list sunroof. I can't remember if they made it standard on the 3.3L cars but at least on the US 3.0L non-intercooled cars (I'm assuming '76 is same as '77) sunroof was still an option. ![]()

Very Nice Minerva's, heres my '79. Yes, the sunroof was an option up to '87 I believe, when it would've turned into a delete. All three of my turbos show the sunroof as an option, either on the COA, window sticker, or option sticker. The '79's sticker shows "electric sliding roof" as a $795.00 option.
I think Porsche/VW North America specified all US cars have this "option" unless otherwise ordered off. I think the culture of these cars on both sides of the Atlantic were very different. Euros have always put an emphasis on the driver oriented experience while in the US it's been about the amenities and driving the car thru valet. Yes this is a generalization. US cars got A/C as as standard equip while in RoWs cars it was an option. I think Porsche NA thought these "options" either standard or not were a must when selling a $30-$45k porsche. My '77 has only one pricey option and that's the sunroof, no limited slip, sport seats, or even right side mirror. ![]()

Wow, cool interior there on your '79. Never seen the all blue for dash, door cards, seats, etc.

RoW '79 930 listed recently on the 1979 Porsche 930 Turbo Registry, VIN #9309700684. It is currently for sale on Hemming's. Looks rather nice for the miles. Same owner for past 31 years and it's a Non-Sunroof! 1979 Porsche 930 Turbo for sale #1728646 | Hemmings Motor News

. There must have been a point to where most 930s were leaving Europe for the U.S.[/QUOTE]
Early to mid 80's till they reintroduced them here in 86. I'd already added an IC and K-27 in 87 when a neighbor got a new 87. He'd been for rides in mine so when he got his he was disappointed in the heavier weight of his and how lethargic it felt compared to mine in comparo rides. He kept the car several years and sold it for what he bought it for since it only had 3,000 miles.
