Holy crap! What happened to cause the jump? A condition 3 example went from about $70k to about $120k in 4 months. That is just nuts.
Here is my car:

Have to drive a 917

I really, really hope this data is accurate, but I have my doubts! There are quite a few 86-88 930's online that seem to be 3+ cars, according to hagerty's scale, for under 85k with under 60k mileage. Awesome to see the appreciation though. Still going to drive mine whenever I can!

I love my car, but if somebody throws down $120k it'd be hard to say no.

Porsches bad boy cars ruled the track, 956 & 962. 930's ruled the streets, and now it's time to play catch up on prices. |

This probably captures data from Amelia Island auctions among other transactions in March which set new benchmarks for 930s, at least for #1 and #2 cars.

There are a lot of transactions that are private and Hagerty as an insurance provider, they have a pretty good handle on the real market values.

$132K for my number 3 car. If someone wants to throw down just 75% of that today ... I'll take their measly $99K.

I'd say 934's & 935's are 930's dressed up as wolves, but a 930 already is a wolf.

Makes sense to me to keep a 930 owners conversation in a 930 sub group.

Holy krap!!! I just saw that too!!!
So, are insurers accepting these values??? I plan to call Monday, to see what State Farm says. I only intend to insure for a #3, but thats still 100k!!! The interesting thing is, if you read the haggerty definitions of a #3 and #4 car, thats where most of our cars fall??? Geesh, and visible paint blemishes or defects visible to the naked eye make it a #4? Last edited by bpu699; 05-01-2015 at 09:05 AM.. |

#4 seems to me to be a general description of a poorly restored and/or previously seriously neglected 930 that would need a complete re do ( $150K or more @ shop rates ), along with locating the right parts, to be in this category.

So then what is a parts car or non runner? A #5? I would think that most cars would be a #3, but by their definition a driver is a #4? According to haggerty: paint blemishes, a cracked dash, non original wheels, are a #4.... |

I am shocked to say that they finally got their head out of their butts regarding the 94 turbo 3.6. Still a bit low IMO but far better than the $34k average of a few weeks back. The Amelia island car at $330k obviously made them rethink the value of these cars.

So, how long does this continue...
For all intents this has happened over the last 2-3 years... The run-up in ferraris has been going on for 10 years... The run up in 356's longer than that... These numbers boggle the mind. If true, it might be worth giving my 930 a fresh pain job to get it up from a #3... Thats a big delta difference... |
