Wait, this is CIS? Nice work!
I am amazed you got the car that light, I got down to 2450 with full cage, full tank of fuel and coil overs, but the wheels were off and we were using camber plates...so your weight is within reason. What was the fuel level when scaling? How were you monitoring boost? I just happened to see your gauge was pegged at 1.8 bar. |

Very nice ride.
So the front and rear bumpers are fiberglass? Are they just fiberglass bumper blades (stock rubber accordians, metal front valance, etc) or are they complete stock appearing complete fiberglass bumpers/accordians/valance? What manufacturer made them? Thanks for the info. I bet that car is REALLY fun to drive! |

Yes CIS, but we did not have to modify too much as meth was going to be used.
The build we are doing on my 3.3L has similar specs, glad to verify this power level could be reached at 1.0 bar. (Looks like the tattle tail on the boost gage was bumped, they are bad about that).

I did not even see the boost gauge in the pic. The key is missing on the gauge and I was using my finger spinning the tattle tale needle. I just left it where it is in the pic.
One thing about this motor that I think is a little different is the way it spins up. Its not as lazy like my two former 3.3 turbos which were both tweaked a bit. This car spins like a normally aspirated short stroke motor. I think it being a 70.4 stroke, a light weight crank, pauter rods, 3.0 liter with FSR pistons, light weight FW and the short gears all contribute to this thing spinning up as fast as it does. Kaefer... The bumper blades and lower valance are FG. the bellows are factory as well as the rubber strips. My shop removed the metal bumper/shocks behind the bumpers. They are a race shop and know where to cut weight, and I requested to get this thing as light as possible and still be livable on the street. I also opted to keep a roll bar out of it to keep weight down. I source body parts from Dave at TRE. I have never received a body part from him that did not fit right. He can also find just about anything we need for our builds. IMR-Merlin... I received a couple of PMs calling foul on my HP claims with CIS which bothered me because of what we did to get our numbers. Then I saw your comment on 1.8 Bar thinking something different than what you meant, sorry. Yea, when we weighed it the tank was just about empty. I now also have a 2.5 gallon tank up front for the meth which will add some weight and my big ass (240 lbs). |

I have a spare key if you need one. It's not the factory one but it works.

Why would someone call BS on your CIS power support claims, have they done this? Are they experts or Internet mechanics? Time to put their money where their mouth is as stated.

We dropped boost today from 15 pounds to 10 pounds (springs). So going from 1Bar and 452 RWHP to .75 Bar and 372 RWHP. 81 HP decrease which is a lot more than I thought it would drop. Was thinking of longevity and wanted to give it a shot. Trying to be responsible/LOL.... As light as the car is, and geared the way it is, it stills moves out pretty good but not like it did.
The WMI obviously makes a difference with the AFRs, but we make power 500 RPM higher than without pulling all the way to 7000 RPM which was my original goal. |

You just dumped 1/3 of your boost pressure, I would expect a BIG drop in power!
1.0bar for your engine is no where near the danger zone as far as pressure is concerned. With the components you have in your engine it should withstand way over 1.0bar no problem (proper AFRs being a given).

Congrats, Looks sweet and it must haul.
I like the Carrera script better than Porsche. Any motor photo? Curious how the intercooler fits with the early tail. Enjoy, Tinker |

You aren't still running 13.9 AFR as on that dyno run are you? And that was w/o the meth? Do you have a J&S Safeguard?

Have you considered adding electronic boost control?

One way to go from mild to wild is to tune the AFR for stock boost level and use a controller that actives both MeOH and boost to max out at a preset higher level. The MeOH volume can be set to match the octane requirements of the boost level.
