Dumb fog light question
I am finishing up my complete hotrod restoration on my mod'd 78 930. Working out electrical issues - finishing the wiring - down to testing and the details.
Question - and yes this may be a dumb one - so here we go anyway..... How are the fog lights supposed to work? -Only when the lights are on (standard setting) -Only when the brights are on I got mine to work, but they only come on when I turn the brights on. I double checked and retraced every wire. everything is correct. This sequence seems odd to me. I noticed on the optional euro lighting diagram - it looks like they can be switched on when the standard lights are on. thanks for the response to a dumb ass question |

Putting the fogs on when the brights are on is retarded. The last thing you want in fog is your brights throwing the glare back at you.

In stock form, the fogs only work with the low beams on and actually turn off when the high beams are activated (at least that's how the 1987s' work).

This may effect the low/high beam selection. The relay contacts 85 and 86 are reversed. I have a white wire going to contact #86 in lieu of #85. The blue/white wire is connected to contact #85 in lieu of #86.
The ground is supposed to connect with #85. The way it is wire now - it connects to #86. So the current electrical flow is 85 to 86 instead of 86 to 85 as shown in the diagram. Would this cause the fog lights to operate with high beams instead of the low beams? thanks |
