Where is a good place to pick up MAP?
I'm trying to figure out a good place to pick up MAP for a FrankenCIS installation.
I am thinking of using the line that originally went from the throttle body (rear of throttle body as seen when working on the engine, really front of TB from standpoint of cars forward motion) to the thermovalve in the breather cover. I believe this connection is just below the butterfly valve. Is this a good location to pick up vacuum for a MAP sensor? If not, suggestions for another place? |

Best place is from intake plenum, it is the most stable MAP signal.

Intake plenum would require me to drill into it. I'm trying to avoid that if possible, but if its not going to work otherwise I'd be ok.
If I do that I would drill and tap for a 1/8" NPT, and then either put in a 1/8" NPT to hose barb, or a 1/8" NPT to -4 AN to run my MAP line. Where is a good place to drill? perhaps somewhere between 2 cylinders? |
