timing advance vacuum circuit

Trying to sort out the timing of my 86..
From the diagram where does the outlet on the #56 solenoid go? To atmosphere ? or can it be plugged ? All of the air pump stuff was taken off. Also Does anyone have a pic of the #60 temp switch I can't seem to find it in my engine.

Speedy, my question is there are 3 outlets on the solenoid.. where does the one with no connection go (just the arrow)
? Just to the atmosphere ?

Jeeze Speedy, you just happen to have on hand pictures of all bits and pieces, even those almost inaccessible? Good job and good description of function!

Speedy thanks so much.. now last (hopefully ) question. does anyone have the correct timing setting procedure from the factory for an 86 ? I have it for a 77 and 78 but doubt that it's the same.

Ok , found it.. It says 26 degrees at 4000 rpm with no vacuum attached. I did that , so my problem is I get a drop in power at 4000 rpm and can't get it to accelerate past that.. My AFR's look good at that point 12-13's .. I"m wondering if the switching valve could be bad? If I'm reading the manual correctly after 35 deg C the valve opens up and it is a direct connection from I to the retard input on the disty correct ? Any reason why I can't eliminate the switching valve ?
