I'm installing this gauge
MTX-L PLUS Digital Wideband Air/fuel Ratio Gauge

The cable that comes with the kit is 8' long, this cable goes between the O2 sensor and the gauge cables. It seems to be about 2-3 feet too short for where i'd like to route it. So far I have it routed down thru the transmission tunnel which is the shortest most direct route possible. It comes out in front of the trans axle and would have to run straight back across the centre of the engine case. But I don't want to do that, I was hoping to have it go around the motor and avoid the header area.

What have you guys done? I know some of you have this gauge. Did you find an extension cable or make your own extension cable?

I checked their website and the section for Accessories and replacement parts seems to be down.

Ideally I need a 3-4' extension cable with these ends on it.

I have had their LM2 and a separate fuel pressure gauge for a couple of years. When I first installed the LM2 I felt the sensor cable was too short 8 ft I think and ordered their longer cable which was maybe 12 ft and cured the problem.

Innovate makes an 18' extension cable, they typically sell for ~$75 new. Here's one for $55 on eBay.

Thanks fellas, 18' is way too long! Any reason why I couldn't splice a 3' section into my 8' cord?

For $50 why bother? The OE extension gives you the ability to route ideally, any excess can be neatly tucked in dash or floorboard.

I ended up using the extension cable in my car.

I ran mine into the glove box... I don't remember having 8' of excess for what it's worth. Love the gauge though, it's much higher quality kit than the AEM it replaced.

OK, i ordered the 18' cable to replace the 8' that came in the kit. At least all have all kinds of routing options now.

I spliced mine and lengthened by about 6' IIRC.

I asked if this is ok, and the majority said yes. A few said it would screw up the calibration.

When I had one with the gauge installed in the center console I bought the Innovate extension cable.
I didn't want to shorten it so I looped the excess cable around in a circle under the passenger seat so it was hidden from view.
It worked.

I'm seriously considering lengthening my existing cable, i've have the 18' extension cable on order for almost a week, bought it thru Amazon prime but since its thru one of their vendors the delivery timing is over 2 weeks! I was hoping to have everything together for the weekend!

^^^ I hate that about Amazon. I ordered some Threebond 1104 sealant and it took five weeks

I FINALLY got my 18' cable friday afternoon, perfect timing. Routed it the longest possible route, thru heat channel on passenger side and only had about 3' of excess cable I had to tie up under the dash. I removed my ash tray and screwed the gauge up to the underside of the dash where the ash tray was. Fits in there nicely. Nice to finally have a proper AFR gauge in the car! Took her for a rip, and she goes better than before with new turbo, boost come on sooner and more linear delivery. But apparently i'm running way too rich, gonna look at that next...
