Short block completed...
Below is the right side of my case with the 964 crank, intermediate shaft and oil pump.
![]() Below is a pic of the short block of my 930 rebuild. The crank is a 964. I already removed the case sealant. ![]() Here are the intake ports - stock on left and port matched to a 3.2L manifold on right. I used the intake gasket as a template and the phenolic block to ensure injector clearance. ![]() If you see any problems, please speak up now before I get too far... Rgds |

I am not an expert in the Porsche arena, but I do have quite a bit of experience building high horsepower engines. What you need to know, or look out for, is that sometimes, the manufacturer does not mill the ports down....Thus robbing you of HP. But their intentions are sometimes there for stability and strength. Stress fractures and gapes can occur.....As well, I know the Porsche engine expands and contracts quite a bit. In the end, it looks like a good game plan. Just make sure it is the correct solution before you end up back at square one. I am sorry that wasnt the answer you were looking for, but you are on the right track.

Looks good. My 930 engine has looked just like your's for about a month now. I'm still trying to get the pistons sorted out. Actually I'm waiting to get new JE pistons and my cylinders back from EBS.
I've heard of gasket leaks when opening up the 930 intake ports to use the Carrera intake so I'm planning to epoxy the spacers to the heads and hopefully eliminate any leaks. Any other ideas?
