911T into 2.8

Henry,

Thanks for the input. The car is with Dave at TRE. He has redone the suspension and brakes ... I will run the Targa Cali this year and then focus on the engine. You pretty much have confirmed what I "thought". Like I said I have seen a car done with a 7R, it was an old build but cool.

Hopefully when I come out for the Targa I can stop by your shop and discuss a build if your schedule allows.

Thanks again.

Chris

Henry - getting a 95mm cylinder to fit in a 7R (or earlier) case spigot sounds like it calls for more than a little ingenuity!

The 93mms got awfully thin down in the spigot, didn't they? Maybe still had enough left to remove another 1mm each side? But the stud spacing? There is enough meat up there where it matters to narrow the distance between the stud borings and the wall that extra mm? Wow

The SS is that much better than the LS a guy could have for a lot less work/$ (unless he bought real 2.8 heads, of course)?

anything is possible on a 7R bit if you throw enough money at it
but calling that "keep it simple" ??

After living in the back of a 935, this little gem is heading home.
The 935 is getting a proper turbo.

Not related.
It looks like the turbo we will be building is a pretty straight forward mid 80s 375hp CIS engine.
Clean exhaust, sport muffler, slight porting, K27, SC cams and a little more compression. Basically make a 3.3, low compression (8.0:1?) SC that kicks in limited boost from the turbo at around 2600. Big inter-cooler is must.
Big torque and a very driveable package.
