Thanks,
i am always willing to pass on "bad" ideas |
Update!!
Car is on the road, put about 30 miles on yesterday evening. Have not gone over 3200 rpm, but the power is intense. For some reason I cannot upload pictures, hopefully my son can upload from college this evening. Thanks to Mike Gariga for finishing it up, I would like to think I helped. |
Yes....need many more pics and details of what transpired in the last couple months.
Great project! |
|
Damn Rick that's nuts!
|
Beautiful! Good job.
A couple of questions. Are those GSF headers and IC? How are you handling the turbo oil return? Also, I thought the C2 gaskets were cut into the cylinders, is there another type? How much advance are you running? |
i want to put one of those in my 66' 912 for a conversion!!!!!!
that is awful perty, good job |
Thanks Brian - the exhaust is really sweet
The headers and IC are both from GSF. Turbo oil return is going to the oil drain plug on the bottom of the case C2 turbo gasket are not cut into the cylinders Timing is handled by the Protomotive chip you would have to ask Todd Knighton Thanks for the comments. |
Hi Rick,
I have to agree with everyone on this one - fantastic work - and I have been watching with great interest. Have you used the standard 3.2 MAF? Kind Regards Jammo.;) |
Really is a sweet looking engine.
Enough power I am sure....but not over the top. Like it a lot! |
Hi Jammo,
Thanks for the comment - yes so far it is the stock 3.2 MAF. Thanks Doug |
Rick,
Any chance for an update? How is it running? Any teething issues? Very, very nice and clean. WOW! Thx. |
Hey 911st,
I have just had the valves adjusted at 1000 miles. After that I found out I have a miss at full throttle above 5000 rpm and I am trying to figure out what it is. I am going to pressureize the intake system and see if I have any leaks. I installed a 044 Bosch fuel pump so I do not think it is lack of fuel. Still trouble shooting. Up to 5000 rpm the power is very intense. Thanks, |
Such a nice job and clean install.
I like how the IC is a bit to the right to make room for the air filter. Can who ever fabed the IC and snorkel reproduce thouse easly if some one wnated one? I assunm you have a wide band on it. Is that telling you anything? Did you go to 944T injectors? Could your injectors be going on you at the higher pressure? The best!!! |
911st
I fabbed up the intake out of 3" aluminum, i can give you a drawing of what i did if you like. The vertical stack from the turbo to the intercooler is a GFS part as is the intercooler No, I do not have a wide band on it yet. The chip is programed for stock injectors, they are original and were fine, they may be the problem Thanks, |
Just my opinion but you have way to much in this to risk not verify your AFR's.
Who is GFS please? Dose the air filter tuck up under the parcel shelf so it dose not get rain directly on it? Do you think the IC might fit under a duck tail or a 3.2 Carrera tail with limited mods? Thx. |
I agree with you and it will be done. just no time right now
www.goingsuperfast.com Yes. the air filter does fit up under the parcel shelf. I have read of people doing it, I had a stock Carrera wing and had to change to a turbo wing for my installation |
Here is a link to Paul Rodelo's 930 with a duck tail

Thx Rick.
The best! |
Hi Rick:
Going the same route as you, as I have the stage I from protomotive and moving to stage II due to high oil consumption and smoking. My question is: Do you had to cut grooves on the heads to fit the C2T gaskets, or are they just sandwiched between the head and cylinder? Thanks, Francisco |
