3 webber IDF on a flat six?

has anyone ever tried this, or heard of someone putting three webber 40 or 44 IDFs on a flat six?

you would have to build your own manifold, but I'm sure there are many here who could do that

tig weld aluminum would be ideal

gas weld or braze steel would work too

solder one out of copper? you may have a galvanic problem it the copper touches anything steel

carb heat may be needed in colder climates, but probably not in So Cal

if your on a really tight budget or don't want to spend a ton of money for a mini science project, you could try three of those EMPI knockoffs

Where would you mount the carbs ?

On a flat six they'd need to be mounted centrally above the engine so that the inlet tracts were equal lengths (which would then be very long, reducing gas speed) ...

You could maybe split them as was done with 48IDAs on Alfa Sud Group I cars and use one choke on each carb and mount 6 but the linkage could be a nightmare.

I like IDF's, but I would do the motorcycle TB and programmable FI before I'd even think of going this route.

Not putting miles on your car is like not having sex with your girlfriend, so she'll be more desirable to her next boyfriend.

holley 4 barrel on corvair

I have seen a single holley on a flat six corvair. He had custom made an alum intake that mounted the carb above the fan with fairly even intake tracks. Ran this on the track for many laps and it seemed to work well. I though at the time that it would be easier and work better to have 6 one barrels, one at each intake
