use a putty knife and very carefully slide it behind the mirror and pry it away from the housing - start on the outside where there is one clip - then move to inside where there are 2 clips - these clips are similar to door panel clips in that they pull straight out - having said all this I should add that sometimes these mirrors have been in their housings 30 years and are really stuck in there so breaking the glass is a possibility - in my experience you will break the glass about 20% of the time - work slow and spraying some lube on the clips once you can see them won't hurt - good luck
