As others have said, good on you for having the courage, and determination for taking this on, they can all be saved, its just a matter of how much time, effort, and money you have to throw at it!
As for those of you who have said, sell it on, what would the new owner do with it ?
probably the same as this guy is trying to do, and you would probably then say the same to that person too!
Give him a break, he needs positive input here, he's already commited himself to the work he has done so far, and he seems pretty determined.
