My brother with MS lived with us. It wasn't about comfort..but. If the temperature got above 70°F he would not just get hot and sweaty, but he would become paralyzed and couldn't move. We noticed his bedroom would be 5°F above the reset of the house. It faced the West, but was insulated well and had trees shading his room. Put in a ceiling fan, had the duct work checked, and even put a vent booster fan on the vent in his room. Nothing helped much. Ended up putting a window A/C unit in his room. What was really weird, in the winter it would still be warmer in that room. Seems like if it was an insulation problem it would be cooler in that room in the winter instead of warmer year round. Had to keep the window A/C unit running year round. Thought it might have been the brick on the south facing wall in that room, but there are big crepe myrtles shading that wall all day.
After he passed we moved the thermostat up and that room is as comfortable as the rest of the house so I've taken the window unit out.
