Absolutely, even as kids, most of the time they'd still be fine when you outgrew them unless you'd moved into the phase of wearing out the knees.

I remember hating new jeans because you could stand the darn things up and they were so stiff that they'd stay that way. Eventually, they'd soften up and get their "patina".
