When we moved Hickam, AFB in Hawaii we went to Radford high school. The school gave my brother and myself aptitude tests to see where we were since they did not have a computer to transfer any transcripts from the many previous schools we had attended.
My brother "sandbagged" a lot so he would have easy classes and get high school over with. On his first day as a senior in high school the teacher did the introductions and then started teaching the ABCs. He decided he sandbagged a bit too hard but they wanted to see some real tests. Ned less to say he di know his alphabet and basic arithmetic. They bumped him up fast and the teacher got the credit.
I wanted to take the photography class that was available for students with grades good enough so I had to do better on my aptitude tests.
One of the biggest challenges was state history. Naming the counties in Hawaii is not real hard once you understand the spelling of Hawaiian names. I Texas naming the counties is beyond a human! Oklahoma has 77 counties which is hard, Alabama has counties that are pronounced nothing like they are spelled.
