Good Morning folks. We had a thunderstorm roll through last night about 1:30 AM. Nothing severe, just a thunderstorm. I slept through most of it. About 4:20 AM we had an incredible and massive clap of thunder and a lot of rolling thunder. It is just astonishing how long it just kept reverberating. The windows rattled and the rumble just kept going and going.
I started the removal of the old amp in the 911 from the previous owner last night. The speakers were connected with lamp cord and a crimp connection.
The brown and red wires are the factory speaker wires. I have ignored it for all these years because it worked and was out of the way and I did not want to fix something that was not broken. The new stereo only powers sub woofers with the RCA jacks that the all the former stereos used. I looked at yanking the amp but that will wait until I get back from the trip. Getting the passenger side seat out is going to be a challenge. Not much room to get at the seat bolts. The old amp is disconnected and unpowered now.
I got the new battery installed and that monster battery is a tight fit. I have to remove the fan for the front AC condenser to get the battery in place. There is zero wiggle room. No more battery acid to worry about.
