Parents had a Crown Vic that was formerly company car. The aftermarket alarm was supposed to be the best you could get. Stupid thing kept going off and would kill the car for no apparent reason WHILE YOU WERE DRIVING. Then it took a long time for it to reset so you could drive. I yanked it all out and ended up having to take it to the Ford dealership to get everything wired up properly again so it would be reliable. There were just too much stuff hooked into the computer they had hacked for me to fix properly.
The car used to be my brother's company car. When I asked my brother about the alarm system he said it was always going off and left him stranded several times. And that's why he sold it. Find it difficult to believe my brother would sell our parents a car that was so unreliable.
Yet, when the air suspension had a busted bag instead of letting me get the air bag fixed he took the car and had it converted to springs. Converting it to springs was more expensive than just fixing the air suspension at the time. Nephew said something about putting police interceptor suspension on it. Didn't ride nearly as nice and it started rattling after that.
