Them: I need to encrypt an email.
Me: Press the button that says encrypt and when you send it, it will be encrypted.
Them: Do I type first or press the button first or what?
Me: As long as you press the button sometime before you press send it will be encrypted.
Them: How do I know it is encrypted?
Me: If you press the button it turns blue. As long as it is blue when you click send it will be encrypted.
Them: But how do I know it is encrypted, it doesn't look any different.
Me: It gets encrypted after you click send.

Me: If it encrypted as you typed you wouldn't be able to read it. (Not exactly, but I had to come up with something)
Them: Oh, OK.
