well I still don't have a working cruise control - but I've put that aside for now - a system I REALLY would like to get working is the windshield washer - been pretty messy here with snow and now rain and we get a lot of splashback from the car in front - so I went at that yesterday - none of the washers have ever worked so I was thinking something electrical would be the problem - checked for juice at all the pumps... nothing there - then I realized I was checking the wrong pumps for the different systems (intensive, headlights, windshield) - I was thinking the pump up under the front bumper was the headlight one so when I pushed the stalk forward of course I got no power there - now I have power to the intensive pump and the headlight pump - they were both stuck but I used the reverse polarity trick (thanks to whoever posted that) a few times and they did loosen up - still haven't gotten to the windshield pump - is it better to go at that from underneath the car? - I tried to put washer fluid in it but it was full - anyway I thought i'd remove and rinse out the reservoir - so what do I find? yea it was full.....of coolant - evidently a PO had mistook the washer fill for the coolant fill - pulled out about 1.5 gallons of very clear and fresh looking coolant - I put water in and while the two working pumps do indeed pump, there are cracks in the hoses so water just dripped from various places underneath the car - hoses are next - I also repaired the front spoiler with a backing plate and flexible bumper repair putty - these can't be plastic welded but the center grill vertical pieces can - so the spoiler is on and looks great - I also removed the a/c compressor to see if I can rebuild that (getting warm with black interior) - more on that as I go
