From early on pony cars always had a high end model that was a verifiable sports car, but by number sold most were very average performance. Comparing the entry level 2016 Mustang at 300hp competes with base Chevy Impala (305) and Buick LaCrosse (304) and the lowest end Volvo S60 at 302hp.
In contrast base Porsche Carrera at 350hp/3k weight would get smoked in a line by the highest end Hundai Genesis Coupe model at 348hp/1500 lb but that does not mean the average Hyundai is faster than the average Porsche-far from it.
The highest end of the line always pulls them into the showroom where their finances steer them to the base model. Nothing wrong with that at all, high end Mustangs have shown just how much power they can apply to a crowd. sorry wrong thread. . I mean to impress a crowd.
