The mezger 997 aren't more reliable, they have that pressed sleeve thing or whatever it's called, there's a big thread on rennlist on that.
And I did think about a 997 but in the end I realized I liked a 996 better. Less electronic, bit less of a gran turismo and bit more of a sports car
